Bill Guerrero

Vice President of Information Technology, Sacred Heart University

Bill Guerrero, a nationally recognized leader in higher education, with over 26 years of C-Suite experience with expertise on higher education, financial sustainability and non-tuition revenue.  He has previously served in executive roles, primarily as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at numerous public and private institutions such as the University of Connecticut and Purchase College, SUNY, and the University of Bridgeport, Springfield College, Ithaca College, and Albertus Magnus College and Purchase College, SUNY. He is currently the Vice President for Information Technology and CIO at Sacred Heart University.

His background includes responsibility for numerous operational areas of the academy including Finance, Budget, Accounting, Audit, Bursar, Financial Aid, and Endowment Management; Facilities Management; Information Technology; Athletics; Enterprise Risk Management; Human Resources; and Auxiliary Services including Dining Services in a contracted and self-operated business model.

He holds a BA in Communications from the University of Connecticut, MBA in Finance from Sacred Heart University, a Professional Certificate in Mergers and Acquisitions from Columbia University, Professional Certificate in Behavioral Finance from the University of Chicago, Professional Certificate in Disruption Theory from Harvard University, and Professional Certificate in Project Management from Villanova University.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Eastern Association of College Business Officers (EACUBO) and is its the Program and Services Chair. Bill is on the Board of Directors for SwipeOutHunger, the leading organization combating higher education for insecurity, and the New Haven Promise. He also served as the former President of the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) East Region, and President of the SUNY Auxiliary Services Association (SASA). He has also delivered over 60 national and regional presentations, webinars, and podcasts with focus on numerous higher education topics impacting the industry’s business model, including serving as contributor to the EDUCAUSE Executive Leadership Academy - Finance Module.
