More than mentoring
The EACUBO Mentoring Program pairs aspiring and mid-career finance professionals with sitting CFOs and senior business officers for a structured, year-long experience. It is built on three commitments: world-class learning, meaningful relationships, and real career advancement.
|
Learn from the best
Leadership development with Teibel Education Consulting, career conversations with sitting CFOs, and a candid session with an executive recruiter — including live interview feedback.
|
Build lasting relationships
A dedicated CFO mentor meets with you monthly throughout the year. You also build real connections with your cohort — colleagues who understand your world and will know you for your whole career.
|
Advance your career
Alumni of past cohorts have gone on to CFO roles at institutions across the Northeast and beyond — and many have returned to the program as mentors, continuing the cycle.
|
A year-long journey, structured for impact
The 2026–27 cohort runs from October 2026 through October 2027. Required group sessions are virtual except for the two in-person sessions at the EACUBO Annual Meeting. Your individual mentor meetings are monthly and flexible.

Rare access. Real preparation.
Most mentoring programs leave the curriculum to chance. This one doesn't. Every group session is designed to give participants something they can't easily get elsewhere.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Teibel Education Consulting Two dedicated sessions with Teibel — a respected leadership development firm with deep roots in higher education — covering the professional skills that distinguish great finance leaders from technically competent ones. |
INSTITUTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The CFO and the Chief Academic Officer A candid conversation with a CFO and CAO about how they work together — the tensions, the trust-building, and what it actually takes to make that relationship productive. This is the kind of insight you rarely get from a textbook or a conference panel. |
SENIOR LEADERSHIP DYNAMICS
The CFO, the President, and the Board A frank discussion with a sitting CFO and President about navigating the board relationship — how they communicate, manage expectations, and handle difficult moments. Designed for participants who are seriously preparing for the top role. |
THE SEARCH PROCESS
An executive recruiter in the room At the closing annual meeting, an executive recruiter walks the cohort through what the search process actually looks like — including a live interview with a sitting CFO and real-time feedback on their answers. Few programs offer anything close to this. |
Two roles. One community.
The program brings together finance professionals at different career stages, matching each mentee with a senior mentor for the full year. Both roles matter — and both benefit.
