Joseph Beaman

Director of Dining Services, Carnegie Mellon University

Joe Beaman currently serves as the Director of Dining Services for Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He grew up in a restaurant-ownership family in Wisconsin and has spent the majority of his career in various aspects of food service. Joe has had the opportunity to work in the restaurant industry for over a decade, including as the General Manager of the Pourhouse Bar and Grill in Loveland Colorado, and as a member of the University of Northern Colorado Dining Services administration. Before joining CMU, Joe served as the Director of Dining Services for the University of Pittsburgh. Joe also spent nearly seven years in K-12 food service at Deer Lakes School District and Mt. Pleasant Area School District, and worked in national sales for U.S. Foods in the greater Pittsburgh area. Joe holds a bachelor's degree in Social Issues from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master's in Public Policy and Management from Pitt. Joe has held volunteer positions including six years on the Pennsylvania Beef Council, and nearly seven years on the Allegheny County Health Department’s Food Safety Advisory Committee.
