Alexis Brubaker is Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer at Cornell University, where she oversees the University's Compliance, Policy, and Privacy Office, Institutional Risk Management, and Children and Youth Safety functions. Ms. Brubaker joined Cornell in 2012 as Associate Biosafety Officer within Environment, Health and Safety. She was promoted to Biosafety Officer in 2015, serving as the Responsible Official for Cornell's Select Agent Program. In 2019, she played a pivotal role in establishing the University Compliance Office and was appointed its inaugural Director. In 2023, she formalized the University's Privacy and Institutional Risk Management functions and assumed her current role. With more than 20 years of experience in regulatory compliance and risk reduction, Ms. Brubaker has deep expertise in program development, business analysis, and building resilient, high-performing teams. She is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP). Her professional background includes extensive work in high-containment laboratory environments (BSL-3 and BSL-4) and bioterrorism response for state government. She began her biosafety career at the National Institutes of Health and was a certified microbiologist for 12 years. |
