Cindy Buxton is the Budget Director and Director of Data Governance at Denison University, where she leads institutional budgeting while helping the university strengthen financial reporting, analytics, and data governance. She plays a key role in shaping Denison’s financial reporting strategy within Workday, focusing on building scalable reporting frameworks, improving data definitions, and modernizing reporting practices to enhance strategic, data-informed decision making.

With more than 25 years of experience in higher education finance, including over two decades at The Ohio State University, Cindy brings a practical perspective to complex institutional challenges. Her leadership in both the financial and data areas of the institution has improved operational processes across the institution and built trust within the community. She is particularly passionate about helping institutions turn ERP implementations into meaningful improvements in transparency, reporting, and decision-making.
