Jacob KoperaDirector of Student Accounts, Niagara University
Jacob Kopera has over 16 years experience in higher education. He has been the Director of Student Accounts at Niagara University since 2021. He also serves on the board for NYSOBBA, the New York State Organization of Bursars and Business Administrators, as president. In his role at Niagara, Jacob oversees all billing, collections, and payments for the university, manages the accounts receivable module of the Colleague ERP system and the TouchNet billing system. In addition, he oversees the Nursing and Perkins loan programs. Jacob also worked at D’Youville for nine years, holding positions as Assistant Bursar and Collections Coordinator. He originally started his career in higher education at Niagara University as Student Accounts Specialist. Jacob has presented at the NYSOBBA, HEARO, and COMTEC conferences on topics such as bursar basics, collections, student retention and success, and tuition insurance and withdrawal policies. Jacob is a graduate of Niagara University and holds a BA in Social Sciences, where he was a student aide in the student accounts office. He also holds an MBA with a focus in strategic management from Niagara University. |
