Joshua Guiser

Joshua A. Guiser is a seasoned executive with over 12 years of experience in finance and operations within higher education and public accounting. He currently serves as Vice President for Business and Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Washington & Jefferson College (W&J), where he provides strategic leadership across the institution’s financial and administrative functions.

At W&J, Josh oversees a $60 million operating budget and manages an endowment of approximately $200 million. His portfolio includes financial operations, legal and risk management, government relations, human resources, information technology, facilities and capital projects, campus safety, and auxiliary services. He is known for advancing financial transparency, strengthening organizational alignment, and leveraging data and technology to drive operational efficiency and informed decision-making.

Josh has led a range of complex institutional initiatives, including comprehensive budget restructurings, bond refinancings, real estate acquisitions and development, major capital construction and renovation projects, and the pursuit of public funding. He has also played a key role in new program development and accreditation efforts, helping position institutions for long-term financial sustainability and growth.

Prior to joining W&J, Josh served as Chief Financial Officer at Saint Vincent College, where he oversaw the financial strategy and operations for three affiliated entities with combined budgets exceeding $100 million and investment portfolios of more than $200 million. He began his career in public accounting, working in both audit/assurance and tax before transitioning into higher education at California University of Pennsylvania (now PennWest University).

An active contributor to the profession, Josh has presented at national and regional conferences, including NACUBO and EACUBO, and regularly participates in higher education CFO forums. He also serves on the board of The Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern Pennsylvania and supports other nonprofit initiatives.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Geneva College and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
